Sacred Voices of the Nyingma Masters

by author and photographer Sandra Scales

Sacred Voices of the Nyingma Masters is an unprecedented compilation of intimate portraits of twenty-two exalted lamas of the Nyingma lineage, as well as teachings that they gave specifically for the readers of this book. With more than a hundred photographs, Sacred Voices' unique, evocative statement of beauty preserves and testifies to the luminous presence of these great masters.

Ms. Scales shares an intimate glimpse into the setting of each teaching with delightful introductory essays that take the reader on a far-ranging and delightful journey—from the Himalayas, to South America and to Europe. This book is the result of the author’s twenty-five-year study of Tibetan Buddhism and personal connection with these great teachers.

Table of Contents and Excerpts

Sacred Voices is printed on heavyweight, archival art paper by Editoriale Bortolazzi-Stei, one of Europe's premier printers of fine art books.
