Through mandala offerings one accumulates both merit and wisdom. When the offering is done as part of the Dudjom Tersar Ngondro (preliminary practices), only the base pan is used.
A complete mandala offering set may be placed on one's shrine, symbolizing the offering of the entire three-thousand-fold universe to the victorious ones.
