"In all the methods for accumulating merit through generosity, offering butterlamps is second only to the practice of tsok." - Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche
As the light of the butterlamp symbolizes the wisdom of the awakened mind, butterlamps are traditionally offered daily on one's shrine or household altar. They are filled with butter or other oils, such as coconut or canola, after first securing the wick. Alternatively, a tealight candle may be placed securely inside the lamp.
If you would like to sponsor such an offering ($2.00 per lamp), you can do so online here
or over the phone by calling Rigdzin Ling at 530-623-2714, extension 108.
