Death is real, it comes without warning and it cannot be escaped. An
ancient source of strength and guidance, The Tibetan Book of the Dead
remains an essential teaching originating in the spiritual cultures of the
Himalayas.
Part I: A Way of Life reveals the history of this text, and examines
its traditional use in northern India. Shot over a four-month period, the film
includes an interview with H.H. the Dalai Lama.
Part II: The Great Liberation showcases actual photography of rarely
seen Buddhist death rituals, interwoven with afterlife animation by Ishu
Patel.
Directed by Hiroaki Mori, Yukari Hayashi, and Barrie McLean.
